There are no perfect dads. However, there are some things that good dads do. They challenge, inspire, build, provide, encourage, discipline, listen, counsel, validate, play, model, pray, teach, strengthen, endure, forgive, believe, lead, protect and most of all, they love. Through scripture we are given examples of God doing all of these and more. Regardless of our experience with our earthly fathers, we can rejoice and celebrate Father’s Day because God as our eternal Father has, is, and will show us ultimately and incredibly what good dads do!
